Have you ever questioned yourself and wondered…”Is it just me? Am I making this up?” It doesn’t happen all that often; but sometimes in this world of design thinking, or human centered design as it is often referred, I find myself scratching my head and wondering this.  I have seen the power of design thinking in solving strategy and organizational challenges. These are those less tangible problems that often vex us.  I have led many design thinking efforts in these areas to the satisfaction of the client. However, when I tell someone new about the ability of design thinking to go beyond product design and they look at me with glazed eyes, I do begin to wonder.  So, it was with great pleasure that I read the September issue of The Harvard Business Review in which some other really smart design thinkers explain it (Brown, Martin, Kolko).  It is not just me!  What I am doing, and loving to do, has been legitimized by HBR.  Thanks!

Cindy
